It is with great sadness I report the death of our uncle, Harvey Joy Autrey, of Wake Village, born April 10, 1918 in Maud, Bowie County, Texas. He died at home this past Saturday. Chris Woodrow >> FROM GENE Here is part of the article I wrote for the New Boston Gen Publication Masonic Lodge at Old Boston - The Lodge was established in 1850 at Boston (now Old Boston). The first yearly report in Dec 1850 showed 27 members, consisting of the full range of occupations: 5 Physicians, 3 Attorneys, 2 Merchants, 1 Minister, 1 Carpenter, Planters, Farmers and County Officials. The Lodge met on the 2nd floor above the store owned by W. A. Lindsay which sit at the northeast corner of the old town square near where Mrs. Rainey's store was in the 1950-60's. According to the Grand Lodge of Texas Library and Museum, dispensation was given to establish a Lodge in 1850, Charter was issued Jan 24, 1951and the Lodge moved to New Boston in 1869. The yearly report for 1869 showed 76 members. A duplicate charter was issued in 1882 due to fire in 1881. The grave site sets SSW of the old courthouse square and about 600 feet SSW from Mr Hal Simpson's house which was the Old Boston School Teacherage. I think Noah Moody found it at one time. Hubert may know where it is. Uncle Jim Lynch did not show the Johnson graves were.
