I am not certain that this set of Tidwells were from Bowie Co., but I think it's a pretty good bet considering how abundent this family is in this part of TX. All I know is that Lea was born in TX (may have been called ONA) & married Nim who was born in AR 10 Jun 1861. They were still living in TX in Apr of 1894 when their 1st child was born. They moved to Indian Territory (OK) in present-day Stephens Co. where the other 7 kids were born. Here are the children's names: Vergle Evert, John Dawson, James Starling, Ruby Lee, Floy Lou, Omie or Ona, Tommie Cleo, & George Raymond. Thanks for ANY info you have on this, my brickwall!

Most of you know that last week Rootsweb had a planned shut down, to make things run "better" and since then, there have been several bugs in the system, one being the Archives Search Engines were out for several days, but they seem to be working again... Now, there is a new glitch... If you go to the Archives Table of Contents, and click on a link, and the first of the link starts with the letters *ftp: Like this one: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/bowie/obits/bowdenbb.txt The information will NOT load. But if you will change the first of the link to *http: so that the link looks like this one: http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/bowie/obits/bowdenbb.txt It will load. I am not sure right now if the ftp: will be fixed, or if I will have to manually change each link, but it is going to take time... I archive for three states, and each state is saying something different. Many of you are new to computers and will have a hard time changing the links, so if you know the information you want to read, and cannot get it, write me and hopefully we can get the information to you. Hi Tammy, My address is now: [email protected] My MSN address, [email protected] will be discontinued, just don't know when. I have looked in my own gedfile as well as the Absalom Autrey book and can not find a Frances Autrey and a Mr. Cox., although we have some Frances Autrey's. However, that doesn't mean much as I still have many gaps in my Bowie County Autrey research, even from close family members:) I also have lots of gaps in my immediate Autrey family which is from Robert Martin Autrey's second marriage to Sara Scarborough, he had additional children and I need a lot of information on this branch and do not know anyone from this branch of the family who is researching their family. The family also lost contact with two of Elbert Autrey's brothers, Will and Ed Autrey, one moved to somewhere near Post, Texas and the other one moved to NM. Could you contact me with more information on this Frances? I might be able to look elsewhere and am willing to try again. Thanks for attempting to contact me.
