Need to know what cemeteries were moved when Lake Whitney was created. Somebody wanted to know about Pankey Cemetery. It's Dever-Early-Pankey Cemetery and is Lat. 30 deg. 16' 0"; long. 96deg. 14' 34". It is a scattering of stones in a grove of trees, several hundred yards east of State Highway 90 between Brenham and Washington. Is the Claybrook property and house really under Lake Whitney? Luv, Brownie MacKie
I know the Towash Cemetery of Hill County was relocated into the Whitney Cemetery along with several others in the Lake Whitney creation. Shirley Erickson (researching Renfro and Roten of Bosque County. They were married in Liberty Hill Baptist Church in 1865 after receiving their marriage license in McLennan Co. The Renfro family also connects to the Smith and Fields families of Bosque) ----- Original Message ----- From: <Mbmackie123@cs.com> To: <TXBOSQUE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 18, 2004 3:48 PM Subject: [TXBOSQUE] Lake Whitney, Pankey Cemetery, and other things > Need to know what cemeteries were moved when Lake Whitney was created. > > Somebody wanted to know about Pankey Cemetery.
