Searching for information regarding Reuben Jasper Whitt (b: 1838, NC; d: 1916, Iredell, Bosque Co., TX) and his wife Margaret "Maggie" Elizabeth Pope (b: Abt. 1857, Catawba, NC; d: 1923, Iredell, Bosque Co., TX). They farmed in this area for approximately 37 years. Reuben was a veteran of the civil war. His parents were John Calvin Whitt (b: Abt. 1803, NC; d: Aft. 1880, Iredell, Bosque Co., TX) and Harriet R. Lancaster (b: 1814, SC; d: Aft. 1880, Iredell, Bosque Co., TX). Margaret's parents were Silas Pope (b: Abt. 1820, Lincoln, NC; d: Abt. 1895, Van Wyck, Lancaster, SC) and Anna Deal (b: NC). I believe that Reuben and Margaret may be buried in Riverside Cemetery, Iredell, Bosque County but cannot find a complete listing of this cemetery. Any help or information regarding this family will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Have CHAPMAN, WALES, AND WILLIAMS ancestors and relatives with Bosque County connections. Any assistance with these families greatly appreciated. --

I hope this site will not turn into a fussing about forwards thing. Maybe we should have a rule abvout posting the forwards that float around the internet.. I have received that same forward for several years . You have to know the person really well that you forward it to. and we surely do not want to offend anyone on this site where the object is to help each other in tracing our roots.
Jerri, I am sorry you feel this way. I do not see how this could have offended you but again sorry it did. Why don't I take a vacation around the country. First I have given at the age of 25 my whole entire life to traveling. I been around the country and around the world with the military and just because I am proud of something doesn't mean I am arrogant. Please keep crap like this to yourself everyone has different views. From: "Jerri Wickert" <jerri_wicfamm@msn.com> To: kat_weis@hotmail.com Subject: Re: [TXBOSQUE] What it means to be Texan Date: Mon, 06 Jan 2003 14:27:48 -0700 Katrina: I was born and raised in Texas. I went to a school named Crockett. Being a Texan in the 1960's,and listening to the prejudice adults in my life, I actually thought we were still involved in the civil war. At the age of 22, I moved away. That was 25 years ago. I was a Texan too until I moved away and started seeing Texans through the eyes of others. It's crap like this that gives Texans the title "arragant". Most Texans are so engrossed in their own self absorbed lives that they don't do any other research regarding other states to find that those people too are very proud of where they live and they too have many things to be proud of regarding their state. They just don't yell it at the top of their lungs and walk around with their noses so high in the air, they can't see what else is going on around them. Why don't you go visit some other states' websites or even better take a vacation around the good ole' USA with an open mind and discover THIS country's many wonderful people and sites. >From: "Katrina Weis" <kat_weis@hotmail.com> >To: TXBOSQUE-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [TXBOSQUE] What it means to be Texan >Date: Mon, 06 Jan 2003 04:48:55 -0600 > >This was forwarded to me and I wanted to pass it on.
