From Social Security Records: Name: Zelma Phillips SSN: 464-42-3938 Last Residence: 76665 Meridian, Bosque, Texas, United States of America Born: 22 Apr 1907 Died: Apr 1966 State (Year) SSN issued: Texas (Before 1951 ) I would request a copy of the death record for the names of her parents. I believe you will have to fill out a form and explain your relation to her, since it is not over 75 years ago. Good Luck! Donna

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FkB.2ACI/965 Message Board Post: Minnie Leota Stephens was the grandmother of my sister in law. Minnie married B.B.Wright 11 Dec. 1909 in Bosque County, Texas. I found information on RWWC, that said his full name was Joseph Buel Benjamin Wright. Minnie had a sister, Zelma Stephens, who married George R. Phillips on 14 Nov. 1925 I found the date on Bosque CoTX Marriages. I was told that the Stephens family lived in the area around Meridian and Clifton, Bosque Co TX and also around Hico, Hamilton Co TX So far I haven't found the father and mother of Minnie and Zelma Stephens and I would appreciate help. I believe that the George and Zelma Phillips family did stay in Bosque Co TX, but the Wright family moved to Matagordo County, Texas. I haven't found what year that happened. Thank you, Joy

    1. Hello there
    2. My name is Connie Ogle Bischoff and I am descended from the Ogles of Iredell. Augustas Wayne was the first. His children included Senate Wayne Ogle and John William (my great grandfather). I am also related to Brit Ogle. Don Ogle of Comanche (who I just met through Ancestry.com) has collected lots of information and photos about our family. I am also looking for Ruth Cutbirth who wrote Ed Nichols Rode a Horse. She met my Dad years ago and told him that she had Senet Ogle's gun. Unfortunately, my Dad was young and busy and did not realize what an amazing coincidence it was. This history is fascinating as I have named my sons after Senate and Brit. I look forward to learning more.

    1. George Powell family -----
    2. Linda McNiel
    3. Green POWELL was one of the first Bosque County settlers, with the community becoming known as Powelldalle. He died in 1862. My great-aunt was Julia MILBURN b. about 1835/1836, who married George POWELL. This information came from my great-grandfather, who was Julia's half-sister, Joshua Gracie Milburn. I believe that George was likely the son of Green POWELL, but have nothing but suppositions to base this on. The Milburns lived in Smith County, which is where Julia and George Powell married, before moving back to Bosque. [the transcriber incorrectly copied the Milburn name as "Millam", but this is the same one] Texas Marriages, 1851-1900 POWELL, GEORGE S. Spouse: MILLAM, JULIAN Marriage Date: 13 Dec 1855 County: Smith State: TX I believe it is possible that Julia died between the birth of a daughter "Prucy L." (named after Julia's mother, Prucy Yarborough) and the time that George remarried someone named Azalee. I found Prucy living with Green Powell's household in 1860, as a 3-yr old, but back with George and the 2nd wife in 1870. I believe the wife, Azalee, was a widow of someone named Benson, based on the step-children listed in the 1880 census. I have transcribed the names from 1860 - 1870 - 1880 - 1910 census images for some of these Powell families. I also found Prucy after her marriage to James STRANGE, in 1880 Bosque. In 1910, George S. was still living in Bosque and his daughter Prucy (Powell) Strange was a widow living with a son Eugene Strange, and another son, William B Strange, in Johnson Co, TX. I do not find them past 1910. Would appreciate an answer from any descendants, especially of Julia Milburn POWELL or her daughter Prucy Powell STRANGE. Thank you, Linda McNiel McNiel2@prodigy.net

    3. Bettie, I just got my messages......had not been online to check mail for a few days.....sorry to answer late........ Sometimes it is very helpful to receive latest forum postings via mailing lists, since it is time consuming to check many forums regularly......on the other hand, it can fill up a mailbox quickly if a forum is very active....in that case, subscribing to the "digest" form of mail list could help..... You always do a GREAT job in regard to everything on the web sites and mailing lists, so try what you need to and let's see how it goes......and, your first message was clear.....you are not a bad "splainer".........
