Below is the extract of the death certificate (you can print it off by clicking on the book graphic. Note that he lived in Waelder, Texas and the Bexar Co death certificate is stamped Non-Res. He was buried in Hondo so I suspect the obituary would have been published in a newspaper covering Waelder (Gonzales Co) or Hondo (Medina Co). The d.c. says the undertaker was at Hondo ... check to see if it is still in operation and ask for a check of their files ... d.c. does not say which cemetery but they should have that in their files. Try different names ... or initials ... or only the surname if nothing comes up ... or only Texas rather than a county. Another hint is to always remember, especially if you can't seem to find an obituary, to check the news items (a really bad accident, or murder, etc.) would be in the news section and the family may not have bothered with a paid obituary. And really early, don't forget to check the true classified area of the newspaper because many were place there as paid advertisements. Don't forget to check denominational newspapers - and the church records. Most likely, as a serving minister at the time of death you'll find both an obituary and a news story. Hope this helps.
