Does anyone know if Autopsy files from 1930 are still available for San Antonio, Bexar County? I just found a death certificate for my husband's great uncle who died in 1930 and it states that an autopsy was done. Thank you, Deb in Oregon
Probably. But not online. Autopsies are now mostly under the county medical examiner. However, this has been only since 1955 and later. For a fuller history, Check out http://www.bexar.org/medicalexaminer/ You will have to do some research about what precinct the death occurred to find out where the old records might be. And that is if you can find someone who knows enough about the system to give an accurate answer. So word to the wise to all who research .... do your background search so you not only can ask an intelligent question, but recognize when the person you are talking with apparently does not know the answer ... and how to go a step up.
