I am not saying I have had better luck but here is what I am doing. I am trying to get the records of a cousin who lived 22yrs at the hospital. I sent what I thought to be a very well put together package of information to the hospital which was forwarded to the Attorney General of Texas. I would be glad to email you a copy of the denial letter and the state codes they site as the justification of the denial. I did call to express my outrage which was unproductive except I now have an idea. The person who I am looking in to was not buried at the cemetery associated with this hospital, which is good because the only markers as you may know are only numbered bricks. So first I am looking in to the probate court to see if her father had a will which provided for her after his death. Then I am going to see if the cemetery she is buried at accepts genealogical requests. If none of this pans out I am going to start writing letters to ! Texas state reps. I live in Oregon so I am not sure how serious they will take my request. Let me know if you would like to see what I was sent.
