    3. Does anyone have any information on the flood that hit downtown San Antonio on August 20, 1886?  It's my understand the flood did a large amount of damage to buidings back then.  I was trying to find if there were any deaths related to the flood. I might have to go to the downtown library and search the microfilm collection for articles on the flood. Thank you, Ron Hesdorff ronph@sbcglobal.nt

    3. Hi, Here is reference to a flood in 1886 , look under Wichita Falls .... http://www.texasalmanac.com/history/highlights/railroads/ here is the one you seek..... http://www.accd.edu/sac/earthsci/sgirhard/1370.090/chap7.htm scroll down to the dates Aug 19 -20 1886 , it is a long way down but it is there. Do a control F & put in 1886 , it will get you there quickly. Just a note here 1886 was a very active year for floods & storms in Texas . 3. Ron: Here is a much delayed response to your question. Apparently there were no deaths as a result of the flood. Here is the front page of the newspaper the day after the flood.
