I received notification by mail today that the Annual Family History Seminar, sponsored by the San Antonio East Stake Family History Center (LDS Church), will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the family history center, located at 8801 Midcrown (corner of Midcrown and Crestway), in Windcrest, which is a suburb of San Antonio located near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Loop 410 in northeast Bexar County. Attendees will be able to choose one of four offerings for each of the four class sessions. Topics for the first session include Beginning Genealogy/Getting Organized; Computer Tips and Tricks; Photo Restoration and Repair; and Effective Research Techniques That Really Work. Topics for the second session include From Clue to Clue - Tracking a Family; State Census Records; Internet Research/Web Sites; and Military Records/Pensions/Burial Grounds. Lunch is scheduled during the third session. Topics for the fourth session include Indexing; Computer Tips and Tricks; Using Maps in Genealogy Research; and Historical Research in SA Archives.
