Thank you for the URL. You asked for evidence Miguel Peché was born in San Fernando de Bexar. I hope I can explain all I know about Miguel Peché, his parents, in laws, etc. so you will believe from the records available at San Fernando Church, Paso de las Garza Burials, census records, land records, and voting records for Bexar County Miguel Peché was born in San Fernando de Bexar. Miguel Peché was the son of Jose Rafael (Cayetano) Peché and Maria de Jesus URENA daughter of Mariano URENA and Juliana de las FUENTES. You will find Maria de Jesus URENA listed in the index of With the Makers of San Antonio along with her parents on your website. I own this book. URENA, Maria Teresa de Jesus, SPANISH, 8 days old, legitimate child of Mariano URENA & Juliana de la FUENTE. Godparents: Francisco de AROCHA & Josefa NUNES. [his wife]. There were ** no marriages recorded ** between August 27, 1805 and July 29, 1811 ** in San Fernando de Bexar to be later called San Antonio, TEXAS when I believe Jose Rafael Cayetano PECHE and Maria de Jesus URENA married. This marriage book for San Fernando Church was either lost, stolen or damaged. Some time during those years 1805 - 1811, JOSE RAFAEL PECHE and MARIA TERESA de JESUS URENA were united in marriage. Their first child, Miguel PECHE was born between ** 20 Nov 1810 and 30 March 1811 ** when the baptisms were not recorded at San Fernando Church. *** *** English translation: The notation states the Priest, Jose Clemente de Arocha, forgot to enter many baptismals in the book, and that he also forgot to sign many of the baptismals at the time he was baptizing in the church. *** Note by Nancy Agnew Peché: MIGUEL PECHE is buried at the HERRERA - RUIZ Cemetery in South Bexar County, TX. The tombstone dates: 1811 - Sept. 20, 1883. Miguel Pechés death record: Santisma Trindad Church, PASO DE LAS GARZAS Burials, translated by John Ogden Leal. Page: 29. 162b. Buried: September 21, 1883. PECHE, Miguel, age 72, son of Rafael PECHE & Teresit URENA**. Burial lists his mother as TERESITA URON but Rafael PECHE was married to Teresa URENA. (Miguel was the husband of Jesua MARTINEZ). The baptism for the sister of Miguel Peché, Maria Guadalupe Peché, is recorded at San Fernando Church. San Fernando Baptisms, 1866 - 1873, translated by John Ogden Leal., Page 20., SFB # 163. Baptized: Dec. 8, 1813. PECHE, Maria Guadalupe, spanish, 7 days old, legitimate daugher of Jose Rafael PECHE and Maria Teresa de Jesus URENA. It is not known what happened to Jose Rafael Cayetano Peché. After the baptismal recording of Maria Guadalupe Peché at San Fernando Church, he is not longer found in the church records nor in the census for San Fernando de Bexar. His son Miguel Peché and daughter Guadalupe Peché are in the census living with their mother, grandmother and half sister Maria del Carmen Rodriguez-Peché who was the natural child of Maria Teresa de Peché and Antonio Rodriguez. San Fernando Baptisms, 1812 - 1825, translated by John Ogden Leal., Page 39., SFB # 335. Baptized: Feb. 10, 1816. RODRIGUEZ, Maria de Carmel, Spanish, 2 days old, "natural" child of Antonio RODRIGUEZ & Teresa URENA. Paternal grandparents names not given. Grandparents, maternal, Don Mariano URENA & Dona Juliana de los FUENTES. Godmother: Margariata de la GARZA. Father Sambrano baptized the child and signed the book. --------------------------------------------------------------- 1830 CITIZENS of TEXAS, by Gifford White --------------------------------------------------------------- Page 217. 1867 REGISTER OF VOTERS -- ATASCOSA CO. ...................................................... If this record is correct, MIGUEL was born between Nov. 20, 1810 - March 30, 1811 when no baptisms were recorded at San Fernando Church. *** 1867 - 56 = 1811 Steve, now that you know what I know, can you see why I feel Miguel PECHE was born in San Fernando de Bexar? If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Regards, Nancy Agnew Peché San Antonio, TX
