I have done some research on Melvin, and as far as I know, they are not related.

I am looking for an African American couple named Marshall and Frances (I think her maiden name was HOLT) Cobb. I think his full name is MARSHALL DEAN COBB They had a daughter named Gloria Dean Cobb in Sept of 1947. I have been able to trace Frances Holt and her family --- but can not find Marshall anywhere on the census. I believe Frances' father was JOHN HOLT and her mother was ALICE. They had several children in 1900: Josie Annie Stanley Edna Tuney (?) Frances John was previously married to Violet They had two children: Ollie and Julia and lived in Guadalupe Co. TX. John's 2nd marriage to Alice in 1900 finds them in Bexar Co living with HAWKINS, BOULDER and McARNEYS. Traci Wilson-Kleekamp
