    1. Burial place of KATE CAMPBELL MERRITT CLARKSON (1843-post 1920)?
    2. John A. Stovall
    3. KATE CAMPBELL MERRITT CLARKSON was the subject of an article in "Frontier Times" (vol. 5 #7) where she told of life in San Antino prior to and during the Civil War. She married a Capt. C.H. Merritt (a native Virginian) and had 12 children; her husband died 9/1/1887. She tells of Capt. Merritt's wartime service and he seemingly was in Pyron's Regt. of Sibley's Brigade, and later in "the regiment commanded by Col. John Baylor and Col. Rip Ford and was asssigned quartermaster duty". It appears she remarried a Clarkson after Merritt's death. I'm trying to locate her burial place for the second volume of _Texas Burial Sites of Civil War Notables_. Any information on her would be most welcome.
