Thank you!! I'd like to have the data bases you're using!!! That is amazing how much you found out!! Thank you. Up until about 5 months ago the Westmeyer name was just a name on a Cemetery information card, a female buried in the same plot as my Great Grandmother, Frances (Renesch) O'Brien, Ayers in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was able later to connected her as the daugher of John Westmeyer, my G-Grands 1/2 brother and the rest of the family came after that. Thank you again!! now off to figure out what to look up first!! People on this board have been VERY helpfull!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I've "rescued" two old photographs which I believe both belong to the DRENKEL Family of Colorado. The first is a photograph identified as Ethel Adela DRENKEL which was taken at the DRENKEL Studio in Aspen, CO. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Ethel likely about 4 years old at the time. The second photograph is unidentified but appears to be a boy, probably about 2 years old, also taken in the 1890's. Based on limited research I was able to locate some census information for the family: 1900 census of Aspen, CO: Mary E. DRENKEL, age 37, born Mar 1862, married 12 years, 2 children/2 living, born MO, parents born TN/KY, a Photographer Ethel D. DRENKEL, dau, age 8, born Oct 1891, born CO, parents born IL/MO, at School Daniel L. DRENKEL, son, age 4, born Jan 1896, born CO, parents born IL/MO 1910 census of San Antonio, TX: Mary E. DRENKEL, age 39, a widow, 2 children/1 living, born MO, parents born TN/KY, Keeper of Apt House Ethel A. DRENKEL, dau, age 18, born CO, parents born IL/MO I've also located information regarding a DRENKEL family member buried in the Red Butte Cemetery with a death date of 20 Apr 1903, so I'm guessing this could well be Mary's husband or son since she is both widowed and without her youngest child by 1910. I am hoping to locate someone from this DRENKEL Family so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to their rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Andrew Westmeyer is the son of George & Emma Westmeyer. He was born abt 1893 in Indiana. Lillie his wife was born abt 1896 in Texas where I think they met. Both Andrew and his father George were listed as Machinist on different Census. I have found Anderw in the 1910 - Kenedy, Karnes, Texas with his parents and sister, Florence Westmeyer and with his wife Lillie in the 1920 - San Antonio Ward 7, Bexar, Texas and 1930 - San Antonio, Bexar, Texas Census. If you are in Texas, you can find it on microfilm at the San Antonio, Dallas and Houston Public libraries. They also have some of the death certificates on microfilm there, which makes it enormously cheaper than ordering from the state. In Austin, the hard copy of the index is available at the Texas State Library and Archives. The actual certificates are not available there. In addition to Ancestry.com, Rootsweb.com (free, but sponsored and hosted by Ancestry.com) has the Texas Death Index on line. Check under searches. She disappears from census between 1920 and 1930. She was living in Hopkins Co. with a child at the 1920 census. I have written to one cemetery in the county seat where her father is buried with no luck so will try the ones closest to where she was living in 1920. She doesn't appear to be in the Texas Death Index for 1903-1940 under any variant of Satterfield. Death certificates were not officially required, I understand until 1929. It is always possible she does not have a stone which I have certainly found in my family before; that's why I check with the cemetery not just rely on surveys. Ronald Reagan didn't put stones on his parents graves; his son found out and did. Happens in the best of families! I will plug along, thanks!
