    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: p8j8o8s8f8o Surnames: Allen Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.bexar/2673/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dear Kind Volunteer, I have traced Alex L. Allen b. ca 1911 to San Antonio. In the 1920 census he is 9, in the 1930, 19 working as a hotel bell boy in San Antonio. His brother Jesse F. Allen of Burnet died in 1976 and that obit says Alex was living in San Antonio. A relative also visited him in a nursing home there. I am assuming a death in Bexar Co. His parents were John Lovic Allen and Anna May Wilson. Alex was probably born in Wilson Co., TX but could have been born in Jeff Davis Co. as that is where he shows up in the 1920 census. Would anyone be willing to check available death records so I can determie a death date to get an obit? Many, many thanks for considering this for me. 3. Most TX death certificates are on-line at: http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=0 I've learned that you can get more information (Names) if you change one item on the screen. At the bottom of the screen, you will see the words "Exact & Close Match." If you click on those words you will be given an additional choice: "Exact, Close & Partial." Click on "Exact, Close & Partial" and you may see more names for death certificates displayed. _________________________________________________________________ The i’m Talkaton. 1. Re: [TXBEXAR] New Lutheran Cemetery & St John Cemetery Questions
    2. It is my understanding that St. John's Lutheran church took over the New Lutheran Cemetery and now they are one. There was a small building there many years ago, but it was burned or torn down. The only records that I have been able to find are at St. John's Lutheran church, but they don't have many. I believe they welcome information with documentation to restore some of their records. That was what I was told when I wanted to put a tombstone on my great grandparents graves. 3. Hi Lisa,   I might be able to help you.   My name is Ron Hesdorff.  My great grandmother was Mary Gensweider Black Herbsleb, her second marriage was to a Reinhold Herbsleb.  She was the third wife of Reinhold Herbsleb.  His first wife was Emma Pfeiffer.  I believe Emma might be a daughter of Louise Pfeiffer.  You are right about there being more than one Lutheran Cemetery.  The Louise Pfeiffer you are looking for might be buried in the same Cemetery as Reinhold Herbsleb, Emma Pfeiffer Herbsleb and my great grandmother Mary.  Reinhold has a plot that includes himself and his three wives which include my Mary.  That Lutheran Cemetery is bordered by New Braunfels, Wyoming and Dakota Streets.  I have seen other Pfeiffer family members while walking the cemetery in the past.  My grandmother's photo collection even included Pfeiffer headstones.   Hope this helps you find your Louisa Pfeiffer.   Ron Hesdorff ----- Original Message ---- From: "GWill17438@aol.com" <GWill17438@aol.com> To: txbexar@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, July 13, 2008 9:58:45 AM Subject: [TXBEXAR] New Lutheran Cemetery & St John Cemetery Questions I have a copy of my 2nd great grandmother, Louisa Pfeiffer's death  certificate.
