Hi, Here is reference to a flood in 1886 , look under Wichita Falls .... http://www.texasalmanac.com/history/highlights/railroads/ here is the one you seek..... http://www.accd.edu/sac/earthsci/sgirhard/1370.090/chap7.htm scroll down to the dates Aug 19 -20 1886 , it is a long way down but it is there. Do a control F & put in 1886 , it will get you there quickly. Just a note here 1886 was a very active year for floods & storms in Texas . I have been many times to the cluster of cemeteries located just East of the downtown area. I have noticed several of them include the names of San Antonio early German settlers who made up the majority of the city's population in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Can someone tell which of the these cemeteries, with a majority of German burials, is the oldest cemetery in San Antonio? Or, can someone give me a list of the German cemeteries located in San Antonio? Thank you, Ron Hesdorff ronph@sbcglobal.net

What it contains--person's name, the funeral home, the cemetary, and the lot space information, plus of course the date of burial. SAPL also has access to almost every SA newspaper on film. For my g uncle the last & last names were transposed; other info was correct. Used the info to go back thru newspapers to find the obit/writeups. Don't know the age span of those records. As I remember, Sexton Records are mainly burials in the City Cemetaries which are East Houston ST. As for an index, I don't remember one. Best wishes.
