Kathleen, I saw your post and wondered about finding your James Shaw Hutchcraft in the 1930 census. Ancestry did not have him listed, but that doesn't mean he isn't there. They just don't have everything on line yet. I checked in the1920 census and in 72 hits on only the surname, I found a James Hutchcraft in IL that would have been 4 or so years older and could perhaps be a cousin, but the important thing I saw is a huge concentration of Hutchcrafts in IL and MO. Since you didn't give any other family names -- or places -- in your post, I couldn't make much of this information. Then I thought about the Social Security Death Index where I found another James S. Hutchcraft born 25 April 1919, died 06 Mar 1994. It is entirely possible this could be a son of your uncle. I would suggest sending for his SS Application to see what information you can get there. Your best avenue to finding information on James is to look at the records of his parents and siblings for clues. Have you written to the Mission Burial Park office to get copies of his burial records. The staff there is very nice and I feel they would give you any help they could. Have you written to the State of Texas for his death certificate? The last one I got was $9.00 I believe. That could give you a wealth of information about other family members. Happy hunting. Kathleen, I did a search in Google after looking at your James Shaw Hutchcraft's WWI Draft Registration on Ancestry.com. I noticed he was a photographer and there is a website that mentions Hutchcraft Studio, here is the link: http://my.erinet.com/~fordnag/SurnamesN the reference is in the first line...this might give you another way to search for your person. Hi everyone, Does anyone have access to the 1930 Census who could look up James Allison HULL for me please? He was born Sept 17th 1898 Victoria Texas and died March 19th 1970 in San Antonio. He is down on earlier censuses as Allison J and in 1920 as just Allison. On the 1920 Census he is single, living in Victoria with his father James HULL(b.Nov1862 England) and mother Sophia Eugenia (nee Goldman b.Sept 25th 1871 Victoria). His father has his own business as a Cotton Buyer and James Allison is a Cotton Buyer too. Thanks very much, any info would be much appreciated. Simone (Hull), (Cheshire, England)

Looking for additional data on the following family: 1900 Bexar Co., TX. Census Preseliam FLORES b. May 1840 Mexico [His given name is hard to decipher ... this spelling is found @ Ancestry.com. Perhaps it is suppose to be Presencia?] (wife) Lizzie b. Mar 1866 Germany (son) Charlie b. Apr 1882 TX. (son) Joe b. Jan 1884 TX. (son) David b. Jul 1890 TX. (dau) Mary b. Jun 1892 TX. (dau) Caroline b. Sep 1897 TX. Other data shows the couple have been married for 12 years and Lizzie was the mother of four children and three were living. Therefore the two eldest sons must be from a previous marriage. I can not locate them on the 1910 Census. 1920 Bexar Co., TX. Census Lizzie FLORES is widowed (dau) Mary - age 26 TX. (granddaughter) Isabel - age 7 TX. 1930 Bexar Co., TX. Census Maria FLORES - age 38 TX. is divorced (son) Albert - age 20 TX. (son) Jose - age 18 TX. (mother) Lizzie - age 56 Germany is widowed I believe "Lizzie" Flores is Emilie "Lizzie" nee Pfeiffer, daughter of Johann & Louise (Jentsch) Pfeiffer. The only other "tidbit" is that Mr. Flores was suppose to have either worked for or owned a Memorial Company in San Antonio. Although his occupation on the 1900 Census was listed as farmer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Lisa
He appears on the WW1 draft registration index and the 1917 Houston city directory. Dick May you live to be a hundred, with an extra year to repent! Boerne has a newspaper, The Boerne Star. I checked their website but found nothing for Ellen Childress, however their on-line records may not go back that far. You can contact them through their website at www.boernestar.com. The obituary may have been posted in the San Antonio Express News as well since that's the largest paper close to Boerne, but their records on line, nor do their archives on line, go back that far (I checked there for you as well). You might try checking with them as well ... their website is http://obits.mysanantonio.com/. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Is there anyone on this list that might do a marriage lookup for me? Looking for the marriage of LEONARD ARTHUR MARKS to Rosa May (Lucius) HARRISON during the 1930's or 1940's in Bexar County. He was a career military man buried at Ft. Sam. Thanks Jackie
Can anyone on this list offer any advice on how I might locate obituaries and location of the cemetery where this couple is buried? I know that they were married on Sep. 10, 1887 (Bk. I, P. 522, #9072 - Bexar Co. Rec.) I think that Clemente possible died on/or about February 10, 1935. Martha "Marta" (Moegelin) Trevino was born about 1868 and either Dec. 5, 1952 or Apr. 26, 1953. I have not been able to locate any obituaries but have not examined any Spanish newspapers that might have been in print during those time periods. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. Carroll Warschak Waco, Texas

Hello, I was wondering if anyone on the list had or knew how I could obtain a picture of SAPD OFFICERS sometime back in early 70's for Family Tree. My 3rd cousin was a Police Officer back in the 70's and would like to obtain a picture of him. I also remember some kind of scandal back then --not really sure what happened but he almost or maybe did loose his job in the force. I was just 10 years old so I don't remember much about it. He eventually died in 78 or 79 (I think in Houston) but I can't find an obituary on him. His death was also very suspicious. Would like to add his picture in my book. Any ideas on trying to get a picture of him, obituary and possibly the news clippings on him. I tried locating obituary through Houston Newspaper, not there. Clipping here in San Antonio of the scandle I don't know of dates so not sure where to look. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Louise
Hello, I was wondering if anyone on the list had or knew how I could obtain a picture of Meter Maids sometime back in early 70's for Family Tree. I remember that a Family Member was a Meter Maid, can not find her anywhere and I don't have any pictures of her. Would like to add her picture in my book. Would appreciate if anyone had a picture that they could email to me. Thanks, Louise
Hi Denise and list members, The San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society has a lot of cemetery information on their website. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txsaghs/index.htm There is an incomplete list of cemetery readings which may have the surnames you are interested in finding. Go to the web site and about half way down the front page you will see a link to "Our Heritage" Indexes. All the articles ever published in the Society's quarterly magazine are indexed here, including cemetery readings. Click on the "Our Heritage" Indexes link and then on the next page, scroll down past the list of other links and you will see a section called Cemetery Index. Click on the initial of your ancestor to see if the person is included in the readings here. If not, try the link to Cemeteries at the top of this page for more information. Hope this helps.
