Balderas but found nothing published. She is listed in the Texas Death Index with a Texas Death Certificate #: 020834-65. If you go to the RAOGK Web Stie at: http://www.raogk.org and follow the directions for locating a volunteer you can get one for Dalls Co. TX who performs Public Record Lookups. If you give them the name, county and date of death along with the Texas Death Certificate # they can obtain you a copy of her death certificate from the Dallas Library. Might provide you with some information and where she is buried. Copy cost from the library are only 25 cents. Sorry I was not able to be of much help to you search. Thanks ..... Johnny: Back in the 1970s my friends and I used to go to the Trinity University library to do the research for our high school English research papers. (Mine was on the Bible as an anthology of genres.) At that time we considered it the best library around for doing that type of research. I haven't heard them mentioned as a source for genealogical research, though. Personally I would suggest visiting the genealogy section of the downtown library and the library of the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society. See the following sites: http://www.sanantonio.gov/library/branch/ http://www.sanantonio.gov/library/holidays.asp http://www.sanantonio.gov/library/texana/ http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Etxsaghs2/about.htm The second of the above-mentioned sites says that the San Antonio Library will close at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. The library has their own parking garage. If you're traveling to the library from IH-35 on the northeast side of town, I can tell you a great way to get there where you can avoid some of the downtown traffic. The fourth of the above-mentioned sites lists the hours for the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society. They will be closed Wednesday and Thursday of this coming week for Thanksgiving. They charge $5 per day for non-members to use their library. The Daughters of the Republic of Texas also maintain a library at the Alamo complex. Since my ancestors were not in Texas, I have not visited this library and cannot comment on what they have to offer. See the following site for further information about this library: http://www.drtl.org/ The following site also lists six LDS Family History Centers in Bexar County. However, there is probably one of these centers near where you live. I used one of these centers several times when I was living near Kaiserslautern, Germany, in the 1980s. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp By the way, if your family has lived in the San Antonio area for some time, the following two picture books have recently been published which would make excellent Christmas gifts. I have purchased copies of both for myself. They are available for sale in bookstores around town, as well as on the Internet. 1. "San Antonio Then and Now," by Paula ALLEN. 2. "Texas Then and Now," by Richard REYNOLDS. Looking for information on John Clayton Quillian born 8 Aug 1898 in Garrison, Nacogdoches County, Texas to Dr. Clayton Causey Quillian and Sarah Vivian Thomas Ray. I do not have much information on him other than a World War I Draft Registration card that said at the age of 20 he was living in San Antonio, Texas on 1220 S. Flores Street in which his father Dr. Quillian resided at. It states he worked as an account cashier for a San Antonio Drug Company. He had registered for WWI on September 12, 1918. If you know anything about John Clayton Quillian I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you for your time and assistance. Priscilla For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

Hi everyone, New to this list. Trying to find info on my grandmother's brother: HARDY JACKSON BROWN. From the family bible info he was born in Dallas, Paulding County, GA 12/171882. He migrated to San Antonio before 1910. I found him listed on the 1910 Bexar census San Antonio City living with his brother John Mapp Brown both as boarders. Can't find him on the 1920. Do not know when he died or where buried. He was married before 1914 to a "GENE" - yes that is they way she spelled her name. Other family members were there in TX also. Most contracted TB and died. Many brought this back to GA - my grandmother died from this in 1915 in GA along with about 7 other family members. Hardy had TB also. John Mapp Browns wife died in TX of TB also. It had to be before 1910 because they are listed on the 1900 GA census. Her name is not clearly known. She was called MICKIE but we have an old pix that has a name that looks like MINNIAN or maybe Minerva born abt 1882 in GA. Wanted to see if anyone had access to cemetery books and could do lookups for these family members and if TX had death certificates for this time frame. Its kind of hard for me to take a QUICK road trip to TX - but one day maybe I can!!! I have a lot of info on PAULDING County if anyone needs info. Thanks for you help.
