----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2005 12:33 AM Subject: {not a subscriber} Cadena/Garza Marriage and lineage I trying to find information on Ramon Cadena's mother Manuela Garza. She was married to Juan Manuel Cadena. Their children together were Dorotea Lucinda Cadena(b. 1856), Manuel Cadena(b. 12/11/1857), Jesus Cadena(b. 2/5/1860), Helena Cadena( b. 4/9/1862), Maria Lucinda Cadena ( b. 7/21/1864), Jose de Jesus Cadena(b. 4/10/1866), and my great grandfather Ramon Cadena ( b. 2/6/1871-72). I have information that Ramon was married to a Pilar Herrera when he was 18 years old. I don't have any information on cause of death etc. Ramon was then married to my great grandmother Otilia Sauceda by which my grandfather Alfred Cadena was born. I have a marriage date but I haven't been able to locate Manuela Garza's burial site. I would like information on her parents if anyone has that. I haven't been able to determine her lineage. It seems that there were several relations who were caring for nieces/nephews etc and some then took their last names. Any information would be appreciated.

The Manuela (Salinas) Balderas 4/19/1965 is my aunt! about three weeks a go my brother remember that our Aunt died in april but he did not know the date or year. Was there a date of birth listed? I wonder why some people don't have a obits? I also can not find obits for my grandparents for some reason unknown, I can not even fine their birth record in the city they were born in or in the census. But I did fine them in the death index.... I know they were Catholic members but to fine out which and the name of the church they went to in a big city will be hard. I know most likely the church would have a obits on record. If you have any ideas on how to go about finding the church I would appreiate it much. Well Mary, thank you again. Reyna
This is a follow-up to my Nov. 7, 2005, posting of an e-mail I received from Doris MATRIAN of Bremerhaven, Germany, who has been attempting for several years to contact her husband's cousin Marlene NICOLAI who apparently lived at 231 Herweck Drive, San Antonio, in 1990. Doris had been following some leads in Wisconsin which apparently did not pan out. See the e-mail which I received today, as well as her original e-mail which follows. I do not find anyone listed in the current San Antonio telephone book with the surname NICOLAI. I do not find anyone by the name Marlene NICOLAI or any variations of the name Steve NICOLAI listed in either the Social Security Death Index or the Texas Death Records search engine, 1964 through 1998, at the following sites: http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ http://vitals.rootsweb.com/tx/death/search.cgi?o_xid=0000493648&o_lid=000049 3648&o_xt=493648 A search for the surnames NICOLAI and JUNET in the Texas Marriages Search Engine 1966 - 2003, and the Texas Divorces Search Engine 1966 - 2003, at the following sites also does not bring up any listings which appear to be for either Marlene or her husband Steve: http://www.genlookups.com/texas_marriages/ http://www.genlookups.com/texas_divorces/ A MapQuest search at the following site for Herweck Drive shows it to be inside Loop 410, intersecting with both Jackson-Keller Rd. and Blanco Rd., near the Oblate School of Theology. http://www.mapquest.com/ According to Doris's original e-mail, Marlene is believed to have at one time worked in an operating room at a hospital in Houston. Perhaps someone working in a medical facility in San Antonio may have some knowledge of Marlene. Does anyone have any additional information or ideas which could help Doris in her search? I'm running out of ideas. I want to try in San Antonio, because this was the only information I have that is fact. The address 231 Herweck Drive, San Antonio, TX 78213 The housekeeping know her and told that she was living there for 2 1/2 years, but the house manegemant don´t want to tell where she moved. Unfortunately I lost the address from the management of the house Herweck Drive. It´s possible for you to find out ?? I will try second time, it´s the only hope I have to get a track from her. Or do you have another idea ?? Regards, Doris PS: In Germany we could make a small newspaper notice that anybody is searching for a person, but I think this should be the last thing I should try ?? There must be a person in San Antonio who knew her!! ?? ----- Original Message #1----- From: "Susan Tilleman" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, November 07, 2005 4:25 PM Subject: [TXBEXAR] Cousin in Germany attempting to contact Steve or Marlene NICOLAI of 231 Herweck Drive, San Antonio, 1990 > ----- Original Message ----- > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Cc: Sent: Monday, November 07, 2005 2:37 PM > Subject: searching a Cousin > > > Hello Listreaders, > > sorry my English ist not so good, but I hope there is someone who can help me to find our cousin ( this mail I also wrote to the list of San Antonio ). > > Since seven years I tried to find a cousin in USA and all I know is: > > She was living in Houston Texas for a while - could be about before 1990 - ??. Her name is Marlene NICOLAI, her maiden name is JUNET and she was born in France about 1942. Her parents are: Marie Therese JUNET, France and Paul MATRIAN, Germany ( he was a brother of my father in law ) and she married an US soldier ( about 1960 or a little later ) with the name > Steve NICOLAI. Relatives told that she worked in a hospital in Houston in the operating room, but nobody has more information about her, most relatives died. > > Last contact we had were letters from her mother, from France, after WW II until Marlene was about 12 years old and the mother also was sending a wedding photo from Marlene and her husband and she told that they lived in Texas USA. The last we heard was a postcard from Marlene from 1990 France where she wrote that her mother died in Chateau le Brienne, France ( could be that she is divorced ? ). Last year I wrote to an undertaker in this village asking him if he knows the family and if he made burial for the mother of Marlene. And I was so happy that he told that he did and that he sent some mail to Marlene ( in 1990 ) to San Antonio, USA and he gave us address: Marlene NICOLAI, 231 Herweck Drive > San Antonio, TX 78 213. > I was so happy but the letter I wrote came back, because she moved. I could find out the she lived there for about 2 or 2 1/2 years, but the housing company can not ( or will not ) tell where she is living after this time. I think she is still living, she must be about 63 years old. > > So my hope is, someone must know her - or her husband - some friends, some neighbours, colleague from hospital, or so on, she lived in Houston for longer time about before 1990, or somebody has an idea for a way to find her. Hello Bexar County list----- I am new to this list and am trying to locate the deaths and burial place of the Louis Simon Family. Louis and wife Anna Simon lived in Faulkner County, AR until around 1920 and then are found in San Antonio, TX in the 1930 census. Louis is listed as a meat cutter in a meat market. He and Anna live at 1126 Rosewood. It is believed that he works in his brother's meat market, Frank Simon. Frank Simon and his wife, Christina are also in the 1930 San Antonio census. They too moved to San Antonio from Arkansas. Frank is listed as the proprietor of a Meat Market. They live on Cincinnatti Ave. They have children, daughter Louisa, sons Ernest, Clarence, James and daughter Eddie living with them. Any information about these two families would be appreciated, but specifically the death dates and burial places. Thank you, Pat _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
