    2. I went through this exercise a few years ago. I doubt that it has changed but with that understanding . . . Contact the Barbara Jordan School of Journalism Library at UT. I have that name a little mangled but with that information and enough persistence in describing what you want to do with the UT operator, you'll eventually get to a helpful person. This library has/had an archive for every newspaper ever published in the state of Texas with microfilm access to those issues in its possession. It was the statewide depository. If memory serves, the Belton Library was working with the Jordan library to deposit with it, anything that Belton had that UT didn't already have. I think there was also some limited access at some period in the past at Belton. The UT/Barbara Jordan library had the larger collection at least at the time. Be forewarned. There is no index to the contents of the newspaper issues of course. You simply have to read the newspaper on microfilm and it is laborious. It is also rewarding. Interesting odds and ends appeared. They published the 'brands' used by each of the farmers. I found my g-g and g grandfather's brands and a few other odds and ends which escape me now. fyi ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: [TXBELL-L] Fwd: Re: Unmarked graves at Reed's Lake Cemetery Author: <TXBELL-L@rootsweb.com> at internet Date: 8/13/99 10:02 AM Forwarded to the list for additional "eyes" to see.. There were, of course, newspapers, but I'm not sure how far back issues go, or if they're microfilmed. I don't believe Betty is a subscriber, so answers can go directly to her at the email address in her header. My husband's family has a mystery to solve and that might help. Thanks. Bettie Sarver _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
