Hello Bill and all: Just a thought on the latest discussion: while Mary Ann was transcribing the SOBC, I posted my surnames of interest. She e-mailed me that one of the surnames was hidden within one of the bios she had just done. I knew SOBC existed, but hadn't explored this avenue yet. Her placing the bio on the web page gave me a whole lot of information and to make a long story short: My library BOUGHT SOBC from the museum and now have it on their shelf. This is one aspect the commissioners have not thought of - the purchase of SOBC from advertisments of a sort on the web, be it from individuals or libraries. And they might be reminded that librarians do keep up with the times! Also in answer to what to do now? In speaking of libraries, never forget your own library as a source. INTER-LIBRARY LOAN is a wonderful thing. If not the actual book, try having pages or the index or table of contents copied. Good luck to everyone in their research and thanks Bill. Gayle B.
