    1. [TXBELL-L] Surnames for Bell County
    2. MaryAnn Bartlett
    3. I don't want you all to think I have forgotten about you...I am working on a long list of names you all have sent. I have the ALLEN grave site pictures back and have some more to develop for others. Just don't give up on me....know that I am working each day on your names. Some of your ancestors went to Williamson County before finally settling in Bell County. If your ancestors lived in Bartlett, they may have done business in one county and lived in the other. The Bell-Williamson county lines run down the middle of Bartlett. My dad lived in Bell County but all his farm property was in Williamson county...and he could walk across the street by his house and be standing in one of his fields. The counties here really did a lot of tap-dancing in the early days so where your ancestors ended up may not have been where they started out. Sometimes, their homes and properties did not change, just the county line changed...or a new county was formed.....like Bell and Williamson, and many others, were carved out of Milam County. Coryell County was formed from the original Bell County........... Sorry I am so slow but there are lots of sources to check...also...please understand that what I send may be all the instances of your surname...and if I find information that your ancestor married into a family, I try to find that family too. I am slow but I will get there.... Ann Bartlett
