    3. Perhaps I should clarify. Please send any responses directly to Linda's e-mail address (amron@hot1.net), since she is not a subscriber. If it is of interest to Bell County researchers, by all means copy it to the list as well. I will forward to Linda any replies sent to me already. Thanks Joe D. Anyone here heard of Stampede Valley? Joe D. Deaver BellCoTX Coordinator ancestry@deaver.com -----Original Message----- From: casey [mailto:amron@hot1.net] Sent: Wednesday, December 08, 1999 12:46 AM Subject: Bell Co.-Stampede Valley Hi Joe...Need advice on how to locate info about "Stampede Valley", Bell Co. Drove out to general location and found 'ole rusty (Bell Co.) marker where a Church used to be. Stopped and asked a farmer about this immediate area and he only knew that there used to be a big school across from this Church marker that was torn down as was the church...??? Searching for a J. T. West family that lived there. Had 11 children, 2 orphans and a mother-in-law living with them. Time frame also makes this an 'impossible situation, 1895-1905!!... Coming from Temple, short distance before you get to the town of Moody, there is a sign on the Hwy. that says "Stampede Valley". You turn left off the MAIN Hwy. and go down this road for 2-3 miles and that is where I found the 'ole Bell Co. marker that was SO hard to read. The Church had been located on the left side of this road BUT facing the FRONT of a road that veered off to the left of this road. The school would have been located on the right of this road, across from where the church was located. Wondered if their was a Bell Co. marker with an explanation, at the original townsight, "Stampede Valley", that I might have missed..? Could this area have been in another Co. during this time frame??.... APPRECIATE any help, info or suggestions....Many THANKS for your time...Linda ==== TXBELL Mailing List ==== Please Clear Off-Topic Posts With The Webmaster FIRST!
