Dear Listers... You may not be aware that the TXBELL listowner, or the Bell County Coordinator/webmaster, is NOT the only person who can submit information to the Texas Genealogy Archives. Take a look at the site for Bell County, at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tx/bell/belltoc.htm ... and you'll see that several people have already submitted data, and the Archive Manager, Kay Bradley, would like more! The site for information about formatting submissions can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tips.htm You may very well have information that could be of use to other Bell County researchers, and only need to prepare it for submission... and submit it! We may, as TXBELL listers, want to undertake a project for the list of taking parts of different materials of interest to world-wide genealogy, and transcribing our portion of it, then turning it in to the listowner or Bell County Coordinator (me, at the moment) for compiling, then submitting our compiled work to the Archives. I'd copy some sections of, for example, our current project to put as many abstracts of cemetery listings on the web, mail them to interested listers, let them put them into their computers in TXT form, email the results back to me as attachments (or send them directly to the Archives), and we'd fill up that part pretty quick. We could do lots of indices that way. If you check the Archives page I mentioned above, you'll see that people have already submitted things like high school student lists, indices for some land records, a list of Confederate veterans, some Belton Journal entries, and so forth... all by volunteers like you and I, who take time to input the information they have into a format that can be readily be uploaded to the Archives.
