Becky, My Mom, Lena Belle Cox, is from Holland. Her great grandmother was a Martha Powers who married Joseph Morgan Wheat. Their daughter, Adeline "Polly" (b. Mar 26 1845 d. Jun 6 1899) m. Oct 4 1866 to James Sidney Haydon. Their daughter, Lena (b. Feb 14 1875, d. Apr 7 1908) was my grandmother. Any Powers connection? Becky and List I have a privately published book entitled "The Life History of Mother and Dad" by Helen Mewhinney Dobbs, the great grandaughter of James Breedlove Wilkirson and the granddaughter of Hugh Mewhinney, both founders of Holland. This is a year-by-year diary of the events, family and otherwise, of Holland from ca. 1865 to 1965. Lots on on Wilkirson, Mewhinney, Bond and Haydon surnames plus a multitude of other Hollanders.
