Hello. My name is Mary Ann Bartlett and I live in the Bell County side of Bartlett, TX. The street behind me is Williamson Co. I am interested in documenting my BARTLETT ancestors here in Bell Co. and Wmson Co. I also do look-ups for people out of the county and state. I am talking to a lady that supervises some part of the TEXAS page on RootsWeb in hopes that I can help transcribe some documents to be put online. My BARTLETTs came from VA>KY>MO>TX. My great grandparents arrived in Bell Co. in 1878. His name was John Thomas BARTLETT and wife, Mary Ann (BELL) Bartlett. A "couzin", E.A. Lemmer, compiled and edited the HISTORY OF BELL COUNTY for the Bell Co. Historical Society..or maybe it was the Genealogical Society. He also did a huge 3-volume work on Bartlett. I am on crutches on good days and in my wheelchair on other days. I am a retired teacher...spent my last five years guiding the gifted and talented students at Jarrell, TX. Genealogy brings history to life for me...it is a challenge, too....an exercise in problem solving. Thanks for including me...
