Alice Cora Williams was born in Alabama in 1871. Her family migrated to Bell County, Texas, circa 1883. Around 1891, she married J.M. Cox and they had two children. I do not know the fate of Mr. Cox, but she later married a HIGHTOWER. In June 1935, Mrs. J.O. HIGHTOWER of Cameron, Texas, is listed as a suvivor in the obituary of her brother. It is believed that she married a HIGHTOWER. Searching census records, marriage records and cemetery records in Bell and Milam Counties, I cannot find a trace of Alice Cora Hightower. I would appreciate any small clue that might lead to a discovery. Larry
Check Hood co TX for HIGHTOWERS. Prominent surname there from what I have read. Also, I may be able to help you with the COX surname as I have a bit on the COX in Bell co. I am not a Cox researcher but one of my BOONES married a COX and I copied some info on them from the Belton Public Library , Bell co. As this is the holiday season, I won't be able to look through all my old notebooks at this time but will after the New Year. I also have to reply to another COX researcher so if y'all will be patient with me , I promise to get back to you. IF NOT, please feel free to write me directly with a "what happened " :) Pat Tennon Lawton, OK [email protected] wrote: > > Alice Cora Williams was born in Alabama in 1871.
