Jackie, I don't know if there is a connection, but 2 Dike children were living with my g-g-aunt for the 1870 census in Bell County. Her name was Sarah McCray. The children were James Dike b. abt. 1857 in Texas and Kate Dike b. abt. 1859 in Texas.
