Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CkB.2ACI/1976 Message Board Post: Cemeteries located within the Fort Hood live fire training areas will be open for public visitation on May 30, as part of the Memorial Day weekend. This area is usually closed to the public but visitors may go to the family cemeteries located there from 7 am to 7 pm on May 30. Although visitors will not need an area access clearance permit to go into the training areas on May 30, all vehicles without a current Department of Defense registration decal will need a visitor's pass to enter the installation. Visitor's passes for the cemetery visits may be optained at Fort Hood's Clear Creek entrance on U.S. Hwy 190. Fort Hood's Range Control office will have guides available to assist families and monitor cemetery visits to ensure that all visitors are clear of the live fire training areas on time. Signs will also be posted alon major roads on the post giving directions to the cemeteries. Roads that may be used to reach the cemeteries in the live fire training ares include East Range Road, Hubbard Road, West Range Roadn and Owl Creek Road. The Range Controll Operations Center will be open on May 30 to provide information for cemetery visitors, if needed. The Range Control Operations Center is located in Building 56000, just west of the intersection of East Range Road and Murphy Roads.
