She was the eldest daughter of Lewis M. and Vada Wisdom Smith. She moved to Corpus Christi in 1943 and was a civilian employee at the Naval Air Station (O&R) during World War II. There she met and married her beloved sailor, Joseph V. Feudo of Detroit, Michigan on June 6th, 1946. Upon his discharge from the Navy, they remained in Corpus Christi and opened their first grocery store on NorthBeach, Feudo Foods. Helen was a true partner in the business and instrumental in its success. Helen was a devoted wife and loving Mother to her Son, Gary and a proud Grandmother to four grandchildren-John, Annette, Joe, and Jeannie and four great grandchildren-Gary John, Jean Marie and Jacob. She was a devoted Sister and Aunt... a caring, loving and nurturing woman to all she met. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers: infant Lynn Ray Smith, George Smith and Robert Smith, her daughter-in-law Rosemary Hennigan Feudo, her brothers-in-law Mozell Ray and Melvin Schulze, her sisters-in-law, Dottie Smith, Sigrid Smith and Lillian Smith and her nephew Robert Ray. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Joseph V. Feudo, her son Gary C. (Janice) Feudo of Sadler, Texas, her grandchildren: John W. Feudo of Sherman, Texas Annette (Bob) Cofer of Denison, Texas, Joseph E. (Vanessa) Feudo of Van Alstyne, Texas and Jeannie (Gary) Rhea of Gunter, Texas; her great-grandchildren; Gary W. Feudo, John W. Feudo, Jr., Jean Marie Rhea and Jacob Rhea. She is also survived by her brothers, Rayburn (Majorie) Smith and Billy L. Smith; her sisters, Dorothy Ray, Mary (Bill) King, Sue Schulze, Mae (John) Limerick and Margrette (Ronald) Feudo; and her sister-in-law, Frances Mason Smith. She was a loving Aunt to 28 nieces and nephews, including; Susan Feudo, Carol Feudo Jansen, Patti Feudo Speed, Joseph M. Feudo, Kellie Limerick and Kevin Limerick, all of the Corpus Christi Area and grand-nieces and grand-nephews too numerous to list. Pallbearers will be her nephews: Jerry Don Smith, Michael King, Phillip Ray, Steve Smith, Frank Smith, Lewis Smith, Joseph M. Feudo, Mark Ray, Paul Schulze, Wesley Smith, Patrick King and Kevin Limerick. Honorary Pallbearers: Sherman Shivers. John Zerr, Malcolm Sterrett, Edmund Ford, Gerald Sutherland, John Yochem, Arthur Karp, John Spradley, Doyne Reynolds and Erich Wendl. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2004 at Seaside Funeral Chapel with a Rosary begining at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with Msgr. Michael Heras as celebrant. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
