Hi Bell, Does anyone have access to the Bell Co. marriage indexes? I am looking for a marriage of Elizabeth (Clark) Wilcox to anyone. Elizabeth, age 25, born Sevier Co., Tenn, lived in Van Zandt Co during the 1850 census and her husband had just died before that census was taken, and his name was James Madison Wilcox. Elizabeth and James were married in Collin Co., Texas. On that census Elizabeth had a son named A.J. Wilcox, (Andrew Jackson Wilcox), who was 6 months old. A. J. Wilcox was later married in Williamson Co. To Sarah Morgan. Quite a few of her Clark family members moved to the Bell and Williamson Co areas in the verly 1850's. Keith, This may be a needle in the hay stack but here goes. The Clark name stands out in our family history affecting Bell County, Texas residents the Stuarts and Riggs. Margaret Riggs father was drowned on the Medina River and buried on the Clark Farm back in Setp. 16, 1867 Thomas Riggs was buried near where he drowned. These two families Clark's and Riggs had ties in Arkansas as with Texas. Would be interesting if you found them in the Bandera, Texas area.
