I am a decendent of the Scottish DOW's. They were in Belton from 1880 to about 1890. Andrew and David are the best known for their association with Margaret McWhorter. Their little sister Jessie was my great-grandmother. Their mother, Margaret Steele DOW, is died in Belton. I still hope to find her grave someday. The family farm was "2 miles from Belton on the road to Salado". It was called Longview and reported to be on a hill with a wonderful view. She is not buried in any of the known cemeteries that I can find. I have to think there is a private cemetery on what was their farm.
