Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/CkB.2ACI/2237.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Although we do not have pension records at the museum, we do currently hold the 1888 Bell County Ex-Confederate Veterans Reunion Roster. (The volume is property of the Lena Armstrong Public Library in Belton, but is currently on exhibit at the museum.) We always have a typed transcription of the volume, with an index. I'm not sure what type of info you are looking for, but if the person you are interested in attended the reunion, then the info on them could include: name, age at time of reunion, date of enlistment, rank, company, regiment, arm of service, brigade, division, corps, department, Post Office (where they lived at the time of the reunion), and remarks (significant battles, injuries, background info, etc.) It's also thought that the roster was reused for later reunions, so they may be included even if they weren't in the county in 1888. You can also view the actual roster at through the Portal of Texas History at this site: http://texashistory.unt.edu/data/BPL/meta-pth-3444.tkl?page_search= I am happy to use the index and look up someone for you in the typed transcription, if you are interested. Just let me know! Sincerely, Amanda Thompson Dyer Curator Bell County Museum Belton, TX ==== TXBELL Mailing List ==== The Bell County Genealogy And History Page Is At: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbell
