    3. Can anyone tell me who S. L. Redding was? S. L. Redding vouched in Bell Co. TX on 3 December 1866 for Irena T. Center, the widow of Edward R. Center? S. L. Redding said that Irena was the wife of Edward R. Center and that she was present at the birth of Irena and Edward's son John A. Center 14 November 1856. There is a Sarah Redding, [b. Oct. 1821 (age 79) TN TN TN], listed as mother-in-law to James Warrick [b. Oct 1840 (age 59) TN TN TN] in the 1900 District 18, Justice Precinct 2, Bell County, TX federal census. Her daughter is the James' wife Mary Jane? [b. Nov. 1845 (age 54) TN TN TN]. Does anyone know if this is the same person as S. L. Redding, or a different one? Lee Anne Transcription of the affidavit from S.L. Redding (copyright Lee Anne Center): State of Texas. Bell County: S.S. This affiant S. L. Redding a resident of said County and state being first duly sworn on oath states that she was well acquainted with Edward Center prior to his entry into the service of the U. S. as well as with Irena T. Center his then wife and now his widow: that I was personally present at the birth of their oldest child John A. Center born November 14th 1856 and well know he was born on said day. That this affidavit is made for the purpose of establishing the exact date of birth of said child and for no other purpose and that I am in no way interested in said claim. S. L. Redding Subscribed and sworn to before me this 3d day of Dec 1866 by S. L. Redding whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to full credit and that I am wholly disinterested in this claim.
