I have a question concerning the Cedar Knob cemetery listing online here: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/bell/cemetery/cedarnob.txt My question is: Is this a COMPLETE roster of all graves? There is one burial, a W.H. Bruce who I believe is the 2nd husband of an ancestor of mine, Elizabeth "Bettie" (maiden name unknown) Harris (first married name) Bruce who was the mother of my 2nd great grandmother Samuel Isabell Harris Casey (wife of Willis Casey) who is buried in Florence (Williamson Co.), TX. I question whether Bettie Bruce could be buried beside her husband in an unmarked grave at Cedar Knob, or whether she could be buried elsewhere... The submitter of this data was: Charlotte McEwen Allman, Harker Heights, Texas 76548 Thanks for any insights anyone may have. David L. Casey http://www.casey-genealogy.com
David, Charlotte was a transcriber on our cemetery transcription project a few years back. As the file mentions, this was transcribed with permission from the "Bell County Tombstone Records" books. You might need to check with the West Bell County Genealogical Society or the Bell County Historical Commission regarding the source of the data, since they published the books: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txwbgs/ http://www.bellcountytx.com/Historical/ Cedar Knob is still in use, so you might be able to contact the manager or cemetery association to see if they have records on the Bruce burial(s). If you can't find a contact for the cemetery you could check with the local funeral homes (i.e., Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen (254)634-2638) or Cedar Knob Baptist Church (254)947-5250 to see if they know who runs the cemetery. Good luck... Joe D. Deaver TXBELL Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbell -----Original Message----- From: David L.
