You might check with the county for maps or with the Temple/ Belton museum. I too had family who lived in the same area by the name of Lemmons. They lived at 131 Hale St & then 120 Birdwell. The house on Hale street was in the middle of I-35. Somewhere I have seen the map of these streets taken out for the building of that freeway. Was it someone on the list who had that map of the old streets before the freeway? My Great Grandfather Thomas "Tom" Richard Lemmons died there in 1943 , he was married to Mary Todd-Lemmons. When they began the construction, I don't know. Maybe someone on the list has some information on this? I too would love to learn a little bit more about it myself.
