All she knew is that [ Gene Smyth] was her grandfather and he was once married to her grandmother, [ Ema Sexton] and they lived in Belton, Tx. where Ema is buried, but no one knows where or what happened to Gene Smyth? He owned a saloon in Belton on E. Central Ave. and he was a big gambler! Ema later married a Jack Elkins. Sorry.....there's no more info re; this search. Let me know , if I can help w/ anything else? The 1930 City Directory for Belton shows: Smythe, Eugene, wife, Emma (Ethel, Leona, Winbourn,) S. Wall. Smythe, Odell, student T.W.S.; rooms W. W. Privett, E. Central Ave. (T.W.S. possibly is for Tyler Ward School.
