We have gambling riverboats here ... and they wanted to move a graveyard that was historical ... the founder of Lake Charles and some of his family are buried there. And many Atakapa/Ishak (a Native American tribe, that lived between Opelousa and Galveston ... and ... that lived here many years before the 'white' man came ... are also there. There is said to be many artifacts under the parking lot. Someone just did an article on the front page of our local paper about that ... so things will probably get moving soon on doing a dig. That riverboat and it's moorings were destroyed by Rita. So far they have not replaced it. Maybe they will not ... and those old souls can rest in peace. I certainly hope so. DIEU TE BENISSE!!!
