Bill, Reference to the Donohue Cemetery. Do you have a listing of those buried there? I am trying to find the graves of a DYCHES family that may have lived in that general area. Thanks. Bill Bost ----Original Message Follows---- From: AToodles@aol.com Subject: Cemeteries Date: Sat, 22 Apr 2000 02:54:28 EDT I was wondering if as you do the inventories there will be some type of cleanup work done to the ones in dire need of help? I have distant family buried in the Jackson Cemetery at Donahoe. This was a private cemetery and is on private land that is no longer owned by the Jackson family. My Gt. Gt. Grandfather, Spencer Jackson was a brother to Jacob Jackson who owned the land, cemetery, race track and etc. The Jackson family were part of the Texas Trail Drivers. I emailed someone living in that area sometime back. They did go to the cemetery, but said that it was in terrible shape. I was told that briars and such were everywhere and many stones were broken. Since this is on private land, will the owners allow a cleanup process? I wish that I could help so much, however, my health does not allow it. I would however be glad to submit a donation if needed. I cannot send much, but maybe if we contacted other Jackson descendants they also would donate. If I can help in any way I will certainly be glad to. Jackie, the listing for the Donohue Cemetary is at: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/bell/cemetery/donahoe.txt The current list of transcribed Bell County cemetaries is at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tx/bell/belltoc.htm The list of all known Bell County cemetaries is at: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/bell/cemetery/cemlist.txt I don't find reference to the Dyches name when searching the Bell County site, but our information is definitely not all-encompassing (yet!). When searching the TXGenWeb Archives, there were mentions of Dyches in Parker, Henderson, Tarrant, Childress, and Potter Counties. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm Joe D.
