Greetings, I subscribe to quite a number of Rootsweb Listservs, and have a lot of documents pertaining to Bell & Williamson Counties in Texas (as well as the related surnames). I'm curious if this system, utilized by Mrs. Crilley for some of the Georgia county list-servs might be able to be used for our Texas counties (the poppet.org system) as I think this would serve to expedite sharing of information. Any List-serv administrators or other Rootsweb officials with comments are welcome to write me and ask about these systems in re: how they work, etc. I have CSA pension applications, marriage licenses, memoriams, etc., all old and handwritten that I could transpose easily and create files for future reference to our Texas list-servs (and I'm sure others have similar items with similar utility). Just a thought! By the way, this is the URL of the site that allows the transcriptions to be transmitted as files: http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/index.html Perhaps instead of gafiles, we could start a txfiles folder? (Perhaps this is already underway?) The GA Archives Uploads page has been updated to reflect the uploads of 7 March thru 13 March 2004. David, if you would like to send the Bell files to me on a CD, I can upload them directly to the archives. Or, as our state coordinator David Morgan mentioned, you can send both county's file to our state archive manager Lola Withrow and she can do the same. I think there had been some discussion about the poppet alternative before with the Texas archive staff. Perhaps David can let us know what the substance of that was. Thanks! Joe D.
