Hopefully to someone on the list that may have more info on this family. This is my ggrandfather's brother. It's not that I'm getting nowhere with him but that I'm looking for a NA connection and that's getting me basically nowhere. So decided to try with other family members. On the 1860 Bell Co. census: J. J. TUCKER 38 M TN Stock Trader Sarah TUCKER 35 F VA Laura 15 F TN Wm. TUCKER 13 M TN Lucinda TUCKER 9 F TN M.E. TUCKER 6 F TN S.R. TUCKER 5 F TN Emma TUCKER 3 F TN This is Jonathan Jackson's second wife and he was born in NC not TN. The first three children are by his first wife Elizabeth. on the 1850 Warren Co TN census children are listed as Laura A. 5, William C.S.3, and Amanda L. P. 2. J. J. is listed as a Wagon Maker. There's also another brother I can't account for, Jesse H. TUCKER b. 1835 Warren Co TN, I suspect he may have ended up in Texas, too. I'm wondering, why the move to TX between 1850 and 1860 and did this have anything to do with Indian migration. I don't know what you can do to advise me but it's worth a long shot. Thanks for your time. Carol, http://community.webtv.net/carg/MYREALWORK Whatever befalls the earth Befalls the sons of the earth. ~Chief Seattle~

J. T., Elmira, and Joseph Brown were originally buried at Liberty Hill Cemetery, according to Resthaven Cemetery records. Resthaven was opened in 1952 and the bodies moved from Liberty Hill and other rural cemeteries in the area when the government bought land for the Belton Lake and to expand Fort Hood. The land where the Liberty Hill Cemetery was is not under water, but is part of the Fort Hood Recreation Area now. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jo To: TXBELL-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, June 05, 2006 9:18 PM Subject: Re: [TXBELL] Cemeteries and Historical sites; Trans Texas Corridor Hearings scheduled Does anyone know how I can find the information to determine if my great aunt and her husband and son who are buried in Resthaven were originally buried in this cemetery or if they were relocated to this cemetery due to the construction of Fort Hood or the Lake. Elmina Brown 1846- 1910, her husband Joseph Brown 1836 -1904, and J. R. Brown 1878 - 1936. Joe and Elmina married in Arkansas before Joseph and some of his relatives reported for duty in the Union Army. They moved to Texas between 1870 & 1880. I found some information in the census but have not been able to identify the children. William, Nancy, Mary & Hiram J. The childrens name differed in every record I find. I think they may have had two or three names plus the surname, and/or the family called them by various names. Elmina, Search for the Bell Co. , Tx Digital Archives. Then click on the Cemetery link. Before you get to the transcribed records for many Bell Co. Cemeteries you will find some introductory links. Most of these are the cemeteries which had to be moved in the Ft. Hood construction. It does take some time to go through the various links looking for something familiar to you but it can be done. I went through this process looking for my Graham family and found many Graham graves which had to be relocated but not my Reubin N. Graham--Which I finally found on the Cofield Ranch in Milam Co. Does anyone have a James Benjamin Williams in your database that you cannot connect to a family? James Benjamin Williams was born November 8, 1875, Pickens County, Alabama. As a young boy, his family migrated to Texas where they settled near Holland in Bell County. Some time before December 1892, Jim and his brother Ernest (my grandfather) became involved in a fight over a comment Jim made. Jim left home and was never seen by the family again.
