The 1930 City Director for Belton shows Warren, I. B., City Alderman, Ward 2; wife, Mary, Ph. 296, 814 E. Central. There were several other Warrens listed, but the only two at that address ( I would guess their children) were Robert and Thelma. There was also an entry for A. E. Warren, County Tax Collector, at the same address. The directory lists several members of the Dooley family, but none named Clarence Boyd or Gladys. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jo Graf To: TXBELL-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, June 27, 2006 7:23 PM Subject: [TXBELL] Re: TXBELL-D Digest V06 #82 This may be your Warren Family, if you don't have access to this I will transcribe for you if you think this is the right family. 1910 Census Belton Bell Co.TX I. Unfortunately the information I have was gaterhed by my brother who has since had a stroke so the source and details are sketchy. I THINK the DOD was 8/6/1865. His notes show he died in a prison camp, at Salado, Bell County, TX. Since I posted my original request, I found information that he may be buried in the "West Salado Cemetery'" located on West Village Road? He served in the Confederate Army, in Company D of the 55th in the Tennessee Infantry. Since the war was over by 8/6/1865, I don't understand why he would have still been in a prison camp. Maybe he wasn't in a military prison camp but instead was ini a criminal prison??? His wife/widow were in Andrew County, Missouri which is where he was originally from so it's additionally puzzling was to why he was in TX after the war instead of going back home. Any insight you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Hello List, I am seeking information on the following people: Julius "John" Henderson Smith and his wife Arimenta Prentice Felts James William Pool and his wife Mary Elizabeth Slaughter Julius Henderson Smith married Arimenta Prentice Felts in Hinds County Mississippi on May 9, 1855. The 1860 Census shows them living in Canton, Mississippi with one child, Albert. In 1870 they are living in Carroll County Mississippi with one child, James 11 years, I believe this is the same child Albert from the 1860 Census. In 1880 they are living in Milam County with two children Jonas A. 21 years and Nonia E. 7 years. According to this Census Julius was born in Maryland and so were his parents. Arimenta said she was born in Mississippi and her parents were both born in Virginia. According to some family history that was put together by a family member in the 60's Julius was born in Baltimore, MD in 1825. He died April 1907 according to the same info. In 1900 Census he is living with his son Jonas Albert Smith who married Emma Addie Pool and their children in Milam County. I have no idea where Julius Henderson Smith is buried. Emma Addie Pool is the child of James William Pool and Mary Elizabeth Slaughter. James William Pool (1829-1926) is buried in McCann Cemetery near Rogers. For many years his grave was unmarked. But a few years ago one of my cousins saw to it that he got his headstone, he served in the Civil War. I have no idea where Mary Elizabeth Pool is buried. I also do not know anything about either of their parents or sibling. I did find a 1860 Census for Colorado County, Texas with a W.W. Slaughter as the head of household, wife Mary E. Slaughter, and two children E.M. Slaughter and Ellen. At this point I can't be sure this is the right family. Her obituary says she was of the "Barclay section". I am assuming this means they lived near Rosebud. It also says she is buried in Woodland Cemetery. Family members have told me that she has a Woodsmen of the World headstone, but I have been unable to find it. In 1880 James and Elizabeth were in Milam County with their children Emm! a, James W.W., Thomas M., and George C. Also living with them is Elizabeth's mother M. Slaughter. In 1900 they are living in Precinct 5 of Milam County with their children Warner, Victoria and Nona E. Elizabeth's mother is still living with them, she said she was born in Virginia. I don't know where she or her daughter are buried. If there is anyone who has any info on these folks I sure would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance. Carlie
