My mother, Eva Allamon (later, Lamberth), coached the team and I have a picture. I would love to have all the players identified. There are 9 women other than my mother in the picture wearing dark shorts, white shirts with an "S" on the front. The girl in the middle of the front row is holding a ball with a trophy sitting on the top of it. Thanks for any help.

David, On their way to Texas from Virginia my ancestors spent some time in Arkansas, Drew and Jefferson Counties mainly. Alfred D. Galloway, a Methodist minister, is my ancestor. Alfred and his family were in Drew Co. in the 1850/60s and I believe he was a Captian in the CSA, although I haven't tried to varify that information. One of Alfred's daughters was Frances Evelyn Galloway who married BF Patton, a Justice of the Peace in Drew County. One of their children was Amanda Jane Patton who married John Thomas Eager in Jefferson County, Arkansas. One of John Thomas and Amanda Jane Eager's children was Thomas Patton Eager, my grandfather, who married Dora Matilda Underwood in Bell County, Tx in 1908. One of their children is my mother Hazel Louise Eager who married Rudolf John Petrek (name change to Patrick later) and these are my parents. I was born in Bell County in 1936. John Thomas Eager's father was John ronimus eager who married Mary Ann Thomas in Ms. John ronimus and his wife had a large number of children. His oldest son, William Dallas Eager fought in the Civil War in the CSA along with his younger brother, a drummer boy, whose name was Josephus James"JJ" Eager. John ronimus Eager's grandfather was Robert John Eager who died in the Revolutionary War while serving in Col. Daniel Morgan's Frontier Rifle Company. I suppose John Ronimus couldn't find it in himself to fight against the country his grandfather died to help create so he went back to Ohio where his family owned and operated The Eager Inn and assisted with the underground railroad. He is buried in the Federal Section of the Oakwood Civil War cemetery in Waco. In 1884, John Ronimus and several of his sons and daughters along with their families moved from Arkansas to Texas settling in Riesel near Waco and Temple. Other than Amanda Jane 'Galloway' Eager I am not certain how many of the Galloway family finally ended up in Texas. If you think this might be your family I sure would be interested in who came to Texas and where they finally settled. Ihope this may be of some assistance. George Patrick of Austin
Three of the maiden names that have married into the KNIGHT family were HENDERSON, Mary Jane - (born about 1886), ROWE M L - (born about 1925, May be still living) & McCARN, J A - (Probably still living). If this rings a bell with anyone please email me. Thanks to everyone. Wendy - WLVJ

I must have missed the initial e-mail on this Hilliard family being struck by lightning. My JARRELL family has a Hilliard connection that was also struck by lightning. I wonder if it is the same family. Would you know if there is a connection to a Jarrell Family or maybe a Brown Family that is connected to the Jarrell Family and then connected to Hilliard. Confusing but I can't lay my hands on my JARRELL notebook right this minute. Thanks Jackie famtree43@aol.com wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Kathy, Thank you so very much for your info.. No, this isn't the same family. At least no that I know of, maybe down the line somewhere, but hose names do not ring any bells. This family seems to be from Bell County-I think Temple, in that area. Thanks Again, Wendy - WLVJ
I was actually researching my maiden name, but was drawn to my son's biological family name of KNIGHT. (I always seem to get side tracked for my kids). Any information would be greatly appreciated so that I may let him know of his true roots. My ex-husband's biological name was KNIGHT, but he was adopted by a man with the last name CARROLL. His mother's name was Mouser and she married a KNIGHT in 1966-according to records-divorcing in 1971. They had 3 children together, 2 boys and a girl. I know of the first names but will not mention them out of respect. (Thank You, Ms. Russell) But if anybody follows these last names please help me out. It seems that Mr. Knight has married since then and may very likely have other children also. I would love to be able to make a connection, not personally but just to say what a small world it is and that Mr. KNIGHT has a grandson here. Thanks Much, Wendy WLVJ
