This list is generated from field notes made in several decades ago, and should not be exclusively relied upon for information. As a project of the Bell County Historical Commission, County cemeteries are being re-inventoried and lists such as this one are being updated in doing so. As the computer list is prepared from a photocopy of a list that was typed from field notes which could have errors in field observations, researchers should be careful about relying on this information for other than perhaps leads. Caution is advised, but it is hoped that researchers may be helped by it, as the intent is to provide the best information that volunteers can provide. HI Folks! I joined this list a few weeks ago thinking I had found a lost ancestor in the Confederate Pension rolls...turned out it was not him. I have received the pension files for one Sarah J GORE of Killeen, TX. Her husband was Elijah GORE who died on 14 June 1928. He married Sarah on 8th of March 1877 in Montgomery County, Arkansas. He served in Company E. of the 12th Arkansas- Gridston Regmt, although they were not able to prove it. Apparently they did as she received a pension before she died on 18 Sept., 1931.W.V. TAYLOR, was her son-in-law. Other names on the records are Fred FOSTER, J.L GOWER, J.S. PRUIT, Jno. BREWSTER, W. C. LOVE, and J.O. STORY. My great great grandparents were among the early Bell County residents, out in Taylors Valley. They were John Hamilton Deaver (1836-1900) and Mary Elizabeth Henry (1844-1918). I know John and his brother Elijah were among the individuals who started Little River Baptist Church in the 1800s, which has evolved into the current Taylors Valley Baptist Church. From what I understand, they had a farm and two story house out on Hartrick Bluff Road, but there is a housing edition there now. I was down in the area a few weeks ago and found most of the family in the Little River - Wilson Valley Cemetary. A couple of others were in the Taylors Valley Cemetary, closer to Belton. (I sympathize with Bill on the chiggers!) According to my records, John and Mary had ten kids. My great grandmother, Texas Clementine Deaver, was married there in Belton, but not sure if she was born there. (She married a distant Deaver cousin, hence I still have the name.) I know the descendents of some of her siblings still lived in the Belton-Temple area, including those of her sister Missouri Deaver, who married into the Mann family. hello everyone, I just wanted to pass on some great news!!! and a reminder not to stop looking in surrounding counties for your folks. As we all know my Robinett family married into the Latham's of Bell County. Never have been able to pen my Robinett's down to the area until today. Found mother Robinett and one of her sons buried in Lampasas County Texas. "right next door" to Bell County. So remember don't get stuck on one county keep hunting everywhere! Debbie

The elect. co. here in Bartlett turned the power on and off seven times in rapid succession taking out my new Dell Computer, my scanner and my printer...and some emails I was working on to send some of you that had requested information...STEWART and BEEMAN were the last two names I remember seeing up on the screen as the Dell died. Hi, looking for any info on my gg-grandfather john henry robertson or j.h.robertson die in bell co. in 1892. His wife lived on college st. so he mite have lived their to when he died.
