>>>I found an animal bone beside one of the MASSAR grave sites<<< You sound like a real character! >>>BTW, we took many photographs during the two days<<< What does it mean, "BTW"? Just to let you know, I am very impressed at the efforts you have gone to, and while I have not seen anything that helps me directly, I thank you for your efforts. Yes. I agree with Ann Meade. Is this for the US GENWEB's cemetery project? I have a cousin in Washington state who is working on that project for Itawamba County, Miss. He is going a little further and trying to find out the maiden names on headstones there. Someone who lives there is taking pictures for him. Another cousin is doing the same thing for DeKalb, Ala. She used a camera that uses a CD disk instead of film. Won't it be great when the US GENWEB has all that information on the internet. Here's the name for the Simmons and Hennington Cemeteries>>>Doyle DOSKASCIL. The access is off of 2268 which is noted on map with number and with "Spur"...runs E - W from Milam Co. to SH 95 just S of Holland. Have also found someone that has done a lot of farm work for people in Bell County and can tell us about the location of some cemeteries that are not on the Bell County Map. If you want a working map of Bell Co., let me know and I will get the address for you. I think they cost about $4 or $5 dollars for the smaller and $8 for the larger one...I like the larger one but I am diabetic and have trouble reading small print sometimes...the larger one can be used inside a "normal"-sized car or van with up to four persons aboard...if your husband does not mind you tickling his ear with the corner of the map...if you have a van or suburban and put the seats down...you can put the map out on the floor and assign a navigator. I am going to ask how we go about getting the unmarked ones on the map. St. John Luthern Cemetery N of Bartlett is preparing more land for enlarging the cemetery. Some of the older graves, Bill were people moved from the Methodist Cemetery you found East of Bartlett that was being cleared off. It goes farther back in that stand of trees than we first thought. Some were moved to St. John's Luthern and some to the BARTLETT CITY CEMETERY south of town. They may have been put into the Old Cemetery. -----Original Message----- From: Phillip Maynard <maynard@hti.net> To: TXBELL-L@rootsweb.com <TXBELL-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, June 30, 1999 9:59 AM Subject: Re: [TXBELL-L] LATHAM; VOLO CEMETERY; BELL CO., TX; East /W side of county /Other locations CHATTER FORMATT |Mary Ann - | |Tabasco sauce is great for chigger bites! |Ann from Texas | |---------- |> From: MaryAnn Bartlett <bartlett@vvm.com> |> To: TXBELL-L@rootsweb.com |> Subject: [TXBELL-L] LATHAM; VOLO CEMETERY; BELL CO., TX; East /W side of |county /Other locations CHATTER FORMATT |> Date: Wednesday, June 30, 1999 9:54 AM |> |> Yall, I just spent two days with a BARTLETT cousin riding from one side |of |> the county to the other! Yall, I just spent two days with a BARTLETT cousin riding from one side of the county to the other! Found a beautiful old iron bridge that is out and found a solitary grave by the Donohoe Cemetery and almost got pinched for cattle rustlin'! And......it was hotter 'n than the southern direction of a north-bound soul!!!! However, many of the cemeteries we located were under huge oak shade trees and the wind was blowing across a creek or river or large tank and it was just perfect for genealogical hikes! Wonderful two days...even if I am writing you from my tub where I am soaking to rid myself of chigger bites! and even if my nose would put Roudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to shame! Cemeteries are wonderful! No one got up and left. No one complained about what I was doing or how. No one talked back and everyone waited his or her turn for us to gather their information. Hello Bell County Listers. This plea came to me; but I can't seem to help. Perhaps some of you can. We are hoping that some of the generations are still in Bell County. Reba ----------------- Forwarded Message: -------------- Forwarded Message: Date: Tuesday, June 29, 1999 2:13:22 PM From: Pat6536@webtv.net Subj: John/Elizabeth Lawler To: Rebalawler@aol.com Reba: I went to Lawrence Chapel Cem. in Taylor-Williamson,Co.; there I did find who I beleive to be my John /Elizabeth Lawler. If I could find some of their grandchildren by their *son's; *Eli.b:1837-38-TX. and his son Jefferson b:1866-TX.; *Wm.b:1841-42-TX. and his son Eli b:1870-Tx. Don't know what happened to *Wm. I think I may have found his son Eli Lawler on the 1880 census in Henderson Co. listed as a stepson with his mother Francis and McDarreath/tt ? was hard to make out this name. Something else I received in the mail from a Bob Lollar (a descendant of Jacob Lollarfrom the AL. group) a copy of Mrs Wade's book; an addendum to pg.180 &181; By:Wendy Bettincourt, from Modesto,CaL. writes: "Gram remembered someone talking abt a cousin named America" ("Gram" is Ruby Edith Lollar,Callaway)! Gram's *youngest brother was named for a relative. Gram was the daughter of Eli Lollar of TX.; this Eli married Leone Davis, they had 5 children: Opal who died young, Davis, Jim Bob , *Wm D., and Ruby Edith b:1902-d:1983 Oregon. My John Lawler b: 1816/17-TX. and Elizabeth, their children: Eli; Wm./Mary (twins), Charlotte, Elizabeth; and "America" ! This is another curve in my search; This is the only "America" name I've found with the Lollar/Lawler's!!! (could this be Wm.of 1841-42 his son Eli of 1870 ; Eli's daughter Ruby b:1902 ??; she would be a cousin to my America, if this checks out ! ) Is any one familiar with "Mrs Wade's" book; are any of the names mentioned above??
