Hey, don't forget to wear your blue ribbon this weekend at the Charter Oak Election Day events! I'm not sure if I will arrive in time for the 9:30am event, but I will try my best. I will definitely be at the other three events, though. If someone else gets pictures besides me, I will post them on the Bell County site. Nancy then moved to Llano Co. and lived close to her son George Washington Henshaw. ------- Susie McFarland Lemin, Looking into the Surnames of LEMIN, FOLLIARD, COMMONS, HURLEY, CABELL, RECTOR, MANSFIELD, ENGLAND, HENAGER, BOLLING, BOULDIN, MCFARLAND, SNODGRASS, HENSHAW, CARTER, RODGERS, PHILLIPS, CRABB, EMERSON, TOMERLIN, MCCUAN, WINSETT, and any associated names.

The Eads funeral home has been out of business for many years, and the building the funeral home was located in was demolished a few years ago. The Belton Journal used to run the "Diaries of George Eads", the funeral director, and the father or grandfather of Cappy Eads (our District Attorney who is retiring this year!). Cappy Eads son is George Eads (the actor that has starred in "Savannah", "ER", and several movies.) The "Diaries" were quite interesting and told about life in Bell County from around the 20's and beyond! They were run several years in the Weekly newspaper. If you are related, it would be well worth your effort to come to the Belton library and read the "Diaries", they made very interesting reading!
