    3. I have now added a photo section for mystery photos from Bell County. This is basically for photos people know are from Bell County, TX but they do not know any details about the subject, event, or place portrayed. I had a few of these accumulated from people over the last three years. Some I failed to make note of who they came from. There are several antique child photos from Belton/Temple photographers. Wanda Anderson had submitted several from a military funeral procession perhaps from about World War I period. 1. [TXBELL] Bell Co. Burns Research
    2. Ed and Cindy
    3. Howdy Fellow Bell County Researchers, Our Burns ancestors have stumped us for the past five years and just recently after attending the Bruton Reunion at Mother Neff Park September 27th, one of the 2nd cousins had a picture of Rev. Stephen Burns with his 2nd or 3rd wife Emily. Emily was married before and in the picture is her daughter, Mollie Hunt and a man named Jesse Hunt. After searching on the TX death microfilm, the only Burns lady I found was listed as: Mrs. Burns, Bell Co. 12-12-1914, #23563. I¹m thinking this has to be her. Is there somebody there in Bell Co. that could look this up for me or get a copy from the courthouse? I will gladly pay somebody to do this for me. Stephen Burns and wife Emily are on the 1910 Bell Co. census, Precinct 7. I cannot find him or Emily any time after that, although Rev. Burns performed the marriage ceremony for his grand-daughter Lou Ella Bruton Oct. 1913 in Coryell Co. If there are any other researchers out there researching Burns or Bruton¹s, please feel free to contact me. I have a tremendous amount of research on the Bruton¹s, but my Burns are keeping me stumped! A brief note to Joe. You¹ve done a fantastic job on the Bell Co. website, along with Jody, Mary Lou, and many others. THANK ALL of YOU for your dedication and hard work. Surnames: Lange Bartz Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/CkB.2ACI/321.1 Message Board Post: I am researching the Lange family. In particular, Nora Lange is the daughter of Albert S. and Mary Lange. This family appears in the 1920 census for Bell County with these children: Herbert,17, Edmund,15, Nora,12, Hugo,9 and Edgar,7. In the St John's Lutheran Cemetery in Bartlett, S. Albert (the S. stands for Samuel) Lange and Mary W. Lange are buried, along with Daniel Lange and others that you noted. Nora married Eddie Bartz and they had a large family, most of whom still live in Bell County or Williamson County.

    3. I do trust systems support for an investment bank. Like many large U.S. companies, we are in the process of outsourcing most of our technical jobs overseas or to other "streamlined" (understaffed) companies domestically. My group in not on the chopping block yet, but we're all valid targets for the next few months. Seems like you can read about this stuff in the paper almost every day lately. Thank you for the offer to help. I should have some idea of what type of work to offer volunteers by this weekend. 3. As everyone can probably tell, I haven't been around as much as I would like the past few months to work on the TXBELL website beyond basic maintenance. I really had hoped to free up more of my time from work, but that really hasn't happened. There's still hope! (Crossing my fingers a layoff is not in the cards...heh.) Something I just realized is that this month is my fourth anniversary as coordinator of the TXBELL website, discussion list, amd message board. Hard to believe that much time has gone by since I assumed the duties from Bill Bost. I think I can safely say I've had the longest term out of the TXBELL coordinators! To mark this milestone, I am making a commitment to do an average of one update or addition per day for the month. These may range from validating and updating the links on the pages to creating new photo pages. Something may not get done every single day, but it is my intention to make it average out that way this month. We'll see if I eat my words come November 1. <grin> Sometime this week or next, I will be putting together a comprehensive plan for the future of the TXBELL site. Although we have quite a lot online already, there's more that I have queued up from people who donated material and there's even more we haven't gone after in the way of transcriptions. Look for several volunteer opportunities most definitely. Keep in mind the USGenWeb and TXGenWeb projects are 100% run and supported by volunteers. I believe with several people even giving a little time, we can accomplish a lot. We all gain from the Bell County resources on the website and virtually all of it was put there by volunteers who wanted to give something back. (Coincidentally, the very reason I volunteered to take on the coordinator position, because of the great people here on this list and other county lists across the country.) While many of these opportunities may include typing, most will not require a knowledge of web editing or that someone live locally. Until I post the announcement, please be thinking about something you would enjoy doing to help out. I am always open to suggestions. Thanks! Joe D. 3. Yep.... Gayle is right. It just worked for me. Ric ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill & Gayle Cloud To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, October 01, 2003 11:10 AM Subject: [TXBELL] Google.com Phone Search Google has implemented a new feature wherein a person can type a telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and receive the complete listing for that number (name, address, etc.) along with a map to the house, with the house prominently identified with a red star supplied by something called Mapquest. This is not a hoax, as we tested it with our own information and that of the one parent still living...also that of several friends. Theoretically, it is possible to block the information by clicking on the telephone icon beside one's name. It supposedly takes about 48 hours to be completed. We intend to check frequently in the future to make sure that our data stays blocked! This is a very scary situation, as we see it, with alarming safety concerns. We do urge everyone to check the iformation for themselves and any loved ones...and to pass on the information to others to do the same. Bill and Gayle Cloud
