I have heard that it is almost impossible to get a straight story from the family court in reference the adoption. I did post on the site where my cousin is currently living and some anonymous person came back with a theory who her real father is but it scared so much, I haven't made further inquiry. What can you tell me about your siblings and why were they put up for adoption? MAYBE I can help?
Andrea, Now that the HIPA law has gone into effect, hospitals are required to protect any information about the patients including their identity. So I wouldn't count on anything from them anymore. Way to go everyone who has put in their time and hard work for us who are looking for the past. I just wish that other states would follow suit. Have a safe and happy 2004. Robin Mitchner
Looks like Bell County got another honorable mention for the TXGenWeb County of the Month award. Not bad, since our state has 254 counties...heh. Bell County has been awarded the top title in Jan 1998 and May 2002. To find out more about the TXGenWeb Project's County of the Month award, check out: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txgenweb/surfing/ It's great to visit some of the other winning sites to see some of their great resources and designs. Hats off to this month's winner, Kaufman County, and the other honorable mentions. And kudos to our volunteers for helping keep TXBELL up there at the top. Thanks! Joe D. Abby has put a lot of time and effort into the site and it is a great example of the best TXGenWeb counties (and there are many). Honorable Mention counties are: Bell, Culberson, Eastland, Medina, Navarro, Victoria, and Yoakum. These counties and their CC's deserve recognition as they, too, are among the best in the TXGenWeb. Congratulations again to Kaufman County as the December County of the Month. Shirley Cullum Page Evaluation Committee
I've noticed a couple of replies to the list to the "Belton and Big Springs" query. Just a reminder, when you see the header "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list," the post is coming in from the web message board. The person posting the message may not be subscribed to the TXBELL discussion list. There is a link at the top of the message which will go to the original post on the web, if you would like to reply. Your reply will be mirrored to the TXBELL e-mail list as well. Just some helpful advice... Joe D. Deaver TXBELL Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~txbell
