Joan and Joe, Thank you both for the information. It's actually not for my benefit, but for a man who wrote inquiring about the location. I have forwarded your replies to him. I transcribed that cemetery for the Bell County web site a few years ago, and he thought I went there in person to log the tombstones. Thanks again, Rose Mary
Does anyone know the address of Dallas Cemetery, other than 3 miles SW of Holland? Thanks, Rose Mary
Well, that's probably better instructions than I provided. Be sure to take some photos, Rose Mary! This is private land, but they do not mind you using it as long as you shut the gates. Joan
Rose Mary, Dallas Cemetery does show up in my Bell County map book. It may be on private land, though. The map indicates it is about 4,000 feet NE of where the south part of Romberg Rd ends at Hackberry Rd. It appears to be quite close to Darrs Creek. I don't see a road leading up to the cemetery in the map book, though topozone.com indicates there is one leading up to it. It might be necessary to just go out there and see who lives nearby if it is inaccessible to the public. Best I can determine, GPS coordinates are: 30.8807 by -97.4292 You should be able to use those at: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/latlong.adp http://www.topozone.com/viewmaps.asp Good luck... Joe D. Sorry I thought I put the range but did not.time frame would be 1878 to 1884. Isaac Simmons was raised in Bell co. Texas from about 1870 through 1900 where he appears on the federal Census. Sometimes he was known as Isaac J. Simmons and sometimes was called Thomas Simmons. His mother was in Milam county texas in 1880 but Issac was supposed to be living in Bell. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe D.
