Could someone please tell me if there were any orphanages in Bell County in the late 1890 or early 1900's. My grandmother, Ruby Margaret Young, her brother, Dewey Young and possibly a third child, John Young, were left in an orphanage in Texas between 1899 and 1910. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Linda Braden Gray

I do have some info on his family. I, too am trying to research this family. Thomas was married to Maude Lee Payne from Mississippi. I have a photo of each of them. Probably taken on their wedding day even though it is separate photos. I've been told Maude is buried in Red River County Texas but haven't been able to locate grave. I will have to check my records but I think Thomas is buried in Monahans Texas. Contact me and we will compare our notes.

Unfortunately he is no longer alive for me to ask about that accident. I know this is a long-shot, but if by any chance he is mentioned in that obit, say as pallbearer, I would really like to have a copy of it. Also, have you thought about asking for a copy of a news article if there is one. I would think it would have made the paper. I would really appreciate a copy of that also if there is a photo of the train yard. The last time I drove by there in the 90's, it had been completely redone, with the old yard office torn down and a tower built instead. I have wished many times that I had a photo of the old one. One of my memories as a child is going to pick my dad up at the freight yard when he had come in off a run or going with him to move his gear from one caboose to another and getting to play in the caboose. I would really appreciate your sending copies to me. I will send you my snail-mail address once you let me know. Thank you in advance. Lynn Raymond
